Nonprofit Marketing Expertise
I'm from a small town along the Mississippi River called La Crescent, nestled among southeastern Minnesota's bluffs. I began writing in my 7th grade science classroom, drafting short stories I'd give to my friends. Convinced writing books wasn't a marketable skill, I attended UW-Madison and dived into the communications strategy, digital marketing, and nonprofit world.

Since graduating from UW-Madison, I moved to Seattle, where I where I spent my time writing on a rooftop with a view of Mount Rainier and getting involved in Washington state politics. I also gained copywriting skills through a company specializing in SEO tactics.
After spending time in the misty Pacific Northwest, I returned to the Midwest. In Chicago, I lived in the Uptown neighborhood while managing communications at a medium-sized nonprofit that supports individuals with disabilities to live full lives.
I'm currently in Saint Paul, working on a handful of ideas and learning how to embrace the Minnesota cold. Since moving here, I've worked in marketing and communications agencies where the focus was always strategy first. I've since developed several websites for large nonprofits and advocacy organizations, worked on email acquisition campaigns, created and placed advertising campaigns, and led a team of client managers.
